About the System Modeling Institute

The System Modeling Institute was created to study and improve systems through computer modeling.

Goals of Institute

  • Use computer models to understand and improve systems.
  • Find broad system improvement applications.
  • Study large broad questions – questions that current traditional science doesn’t support.
  • Create a place for intellectual explorers that do not get supported by the existing scientific system structure to study for the love of science and fun of exploring new ideas.

History & Future

The System Modeling Institute is a “startup research center”.  It is in the early stages of growth and much of this website contains the vision of what it could become.  The founder has been able to proceed with some research projects and research interns have been hired over the summer for the past 3 years to help with projects.

Steps in Institute Creation

  • Continue Research in AI, Economic Modeling and Virtual Worlds
  • Provide information for independent study of systems (links and book list on this website)
  • Network with others interested in system study
  • Work on generating more funding
  • Create a place to study and model systems
  • Hire more “intellectual explorers” to do more modeling and systems research
  • Publish research findings

Potential Funding Sources

  • Generate income by modeling and consulting for corporations, other institutes, think tanks, government, universities and research centers.
  • License AI neural net circuits developed by the institute
  • Launch startups using IP and technology developed at the institute
  • Donations from those interested in improving the systems in which we all participate
